FortiFi: Redefining Privacy in a Digital World
A self-hosted platform empowering individuals with privacy, security, and control over their data.
GOAL
The main challenge was to design a user-friendly, self-hosted platform that prioritizes privacy without compromising convenience. Success was measured by creating a solution grounded in extensive research and user insights, culminating in a viable prototype that empowers individuals to control their data independently.
EXPERIENCE
The project began with rigorous research methods, including stakeholder mapping, journey mapping, competitive analysis, and user interviews. This process uncovered critical insights into how privacy is often sacrificed for convenience. A key turning point was creating a prototype interactive survey to simulate user decisions and test the viability of the concept. The research revealed the pressing need for a product that simplifies self-hosting while ensuring robust security.
OUTCOME
FortiFi successfully addressed the challenge by combining military-grade encryption, a personal AI assistant, and a self-hosted app ecosystem into a cohesive platform. The project exceeded expectations by demonstrating a clear market opportunity for a privacy-first solution and received positive feedback for its innovative approach. It underscored the importance of user-centered design in tackling complex digital privacy challenges.
